　　主角是一名叫做基娅（黛西·埃德加-琼斯 饰）的女孩，她遭到家人遗弃，在北卡罗来纳州中一片危险的沼泽地里独自生活并长大。多年来，基娅受到小镇居民的排挤和歧视，她被戏称为“沼泽女孩”。在情窦初开的年纪，两名小镇青年陆续闯入了基娅的世界，她敞开了自己的心扉。但爱情的伤害接踵而至，一件突如其来的谜案更让她陷入了失去自由的危险境地。
