　　39年以<沼澤兵學校>的導演出道，從<再見相逢之日>到<小菊與小修>，在這十年裡一共獲得了五次電影院旬報第一名
　　91年<戰爭與青春>成為了他的遺作，因腦膜出血在同年的11月22日逝世。

　　日本1991年日本社会派大导今井正遗作，工藤夕贵一人分饰两角，技惊四座，荣获蓝丝带最佳女主角奖。 简介：暑假将至，高中二年级的由香里（工藤夕贵饰）的暑期末珙O「战争再体验」。原来，由香里所住的地区是1945年美军空袭东京时受灾最严重的一区，老师要同学趁着暑假，向父母请教当时的经历，写成十页以上的报告。一直认为战争乃「事不关己」的由香里，想起经常呆坐在公园的早季子姑妈，可惜她只不停地凝望着电柱，哼着童谣，由香里无法与她沟通。后来，她从爸爸的口中得知年轻时的早季子（工藤夕贵饰）在二战的惨痛经历，而她那未满一岁的女儿就是于空袭当晚在那支电柱旁边失踪，而她四十多年来一直在守候在那电柱旁，期待女儿有一天会出现。可惜，早季姑妈不久便去世了。此时，从韩国来了一个会说日文的女士，她声称自己是空袭时的孤儿，可能正是早季子一直在找的女儿……
